Description

25 x 37 inch oil painting by Quentin Coyle. The only online information I could find about him was his obituary and his letters home when he was a POW in World War 2 after his plane was shot down in Germany. This was purchased by myself from a very wealthy elderly local widow. They had very substantial high end art, furs, cars and furnishings. She believed they purchased this in San Francisco and hung above there piano for years. I simply loved the image which seems to cause most who see it and emotional response. It is my guess that the subject manner of the painting is something he had seen during the war. I do not know the title and have not tried to contact the family.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil paint on canvas with the measurements of 25 x 37 inches. The painting depicts a family and was made by the artist Quentin Coyle. Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases. Sadly his artworks are no offered or sold on auctions.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
