What does this mean?

Greetings and thank you for calling upon the experts at Mearto to examine your Chinese porcelain garlic neck vase hand-painted with scrolling lotus in the doucai technique. It's a lovely piece, painted in under-glaze blue with over-glaze enamels and yours appears to be in excellent condition, clearly it was well cared for.

I am going to base my assumption that this piece is about 28cm (11") tall. That being the case, in early January, 2019 a perfect match to your vase was offered and sold at international auction. As it is a match and the house reputable, I'd expect yours to fall right in the same range. Were it a tad larger or of a different shape, the value would be a bit higher. If you have any follow-up questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Kindest Regards,

Erin-Marie Wallace MA, AU

I would be happy to show you, yours is surely genuine as is that which was offered and sold through a House in Australia. The question is not of authenticity but of current market value. Thanks. Erin, I had seen the piece, I think mine is genuine 18th century, the one sold, is reproduction .howvi know, u look at corner bottom, the oxidation , mine one more pure and serious ,and thicker, the one sold oxidation not that serious, minor, based on this observation I would say there is only piece genuinely 18th century, that is mine
