Provenance

Lindsey started painting in 1965, high school. Sold her first painting in Whittier California in 1968. She acquired a teaching credential in Art Education from California State University Fullerton in 1975 and worked for the Walt Disney Company for 20 years in set design and visual merchandising. Lived in Japan for several years, exhibited and sold a number of paintings in Asia. This painting: The artist began painting local culture and surrounds several years ago. Churches, markets, farms and people interacting with one another. This painting reflects the culture of the area, the color of the fields and sky as clear and welcoming and give voice to her brush. After arriving in the Mid-South a new host of ideas, figures and challenges reflective of her current work Exhibited: 2018-WKNO Gallery 1091, Memphis, 2019 Bartlett Arts, St. Francis Hospital, Botanical Gardens Exhibits and the Mid-South Artist Gallery. Katie Lindsey reached her professional level while working for Disney but has excepted the art community with her fresh, free style and expressive use of color.
