Description

This is a very busy designed ceramic or porcelain box trimmed in gold. It is 3 1/2" deep, 3 1/2" wide, and 7" long. There are markings IN the box and on the bottom of the box. I do not know what they mean. There are many pictures on the box that might be religious but I am not sure.

Provenance

This was part of my mom's estate that we are trying to probate. I have pulled items that I think might have some value before the Estate Sale begins. She inherited a lot of antiques from her brother AND she also loved to go to antique stores and estate sales. We are not sure where she got it.

$250 - $350 (United States Dollar)

Good morning, Nancy,

Thank you for submitting your appraisal inquiry to Mearto. Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A Capodimonte polychrome glazed and partial gilt porcelain lidded box
Italian, probably 19th century
The exterior and lid with religious subject matter, the interior with white glazing.
3 1/2" high, 7" wide, 3 1/2" deep
Condition: appears to be in good condition, commensurate with age and use.
$250-350

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
