What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a 1950s boteh shaped brooch decorated with a carved amethyst fish between foliage, marked with a hallmark commonly called AE in heart or AEM. Apparently a manufacturer from Mexico City known for quality silver jewelry and flatware, currently no one was able to identify this larger manufacturer or workshop. The estimate is based on similar sold at well advertised auctions.
