What does this mean?

Dear Dan,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the hallmarks under the R R. The material is more probable tin. Can you check if this piece is magnetic?

With kind regards,
Georg

Hi Georg
Thank you for your response. I have better images and more info. It is lead and hallmarkings are pre 1499.
Look forward to your response.
Dan

Dear Dan,

Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The apprised object is one single plate with the measurements of 9.5 inches diameters. This plate was made out of tin and shows on its middle so-called alliance coats of arms or combined coat of arms. The two coat of arms is usually combined for a marriage. The right coat of arms could be identified with a French family which belongs to the wife. The left coat of arms of the husband is not possible to identify because lions were an often used symbol. Possible families are:
The Hallmarks cannot be identified without research in a libary. The depiction of the coat of arms is a hint that this plate was made in the 16th or 17th century.
Sadly tin objects are not searched at the moment on the art market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 50 to 100 AUD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With best regards,
Georg
