Large Wooden Resting Buddha

My friend received this from a rich friend of hers. He is of Chinese decent. His father was an strongly adherent Buddhist, although he and his son had a very poor relationship. When the father passed away, the son gave away his father's Buddhist memorabilia as they were not a worthwhile memory to him and my friend opted to take them in the hope that she'd be able to sell them and get some income as she's down on her luck, which the son was okay with. Problem is she doesn't know where to start selling them, so I'm helping her post them here.

Thanks for the clear pictures. The reclining buddha represents the historical Buddha during his last illness, about to enter the parinirvana. Its not an Antique buddha, most likely made after 1990 or so. Because of late production it is not always' easy to see were it was made ( in modern times style characteristics are mixing more ) but I think its save to say that it was in China. The lacquer used is quite thick but I can see the woodgrain. The quality of the carving is very important to determine value. Yours is done in a nice way but it is also done fast and not to detailed. It is made for decorative purposes to meet the demand in the west for Buddhist objects. Last decades in many western countries Buddhist and his icons became very popular.
Its a big statue and I believe if you would like to sell it there were will be interest in it i'm sure. So my evaluation is based on the decorative value on a market with demand for buddhist articles.

Hi Simon,
It definitely isn't wax, although the surface has been been smoothed very well. Not sure what the wood would have been treated with. Please see the new pics I uploaded to see the bottom of the statue. I also took that picture of the shoulder to try and show the rings from the wood.
