Giorgio de Chirico work, unique in the word
Giorgio de Chirico, never been exhibited, signed from the artist and I owned for more than 40 years
The appraised work appears to be a mixed media piece on paper possibly executed by Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978), titled “La Luna e il Sole sue Canape.” The work depicts a Surrealist composition with a stylized sun and moon hovering atop a large sofa, place next to a window. De Chiricio was well-known for his often dreamlike compositions and developed his own genre, which he referred to as Metaphysical painting. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. The appraised work's approximated size (based on images provided) size, composition, medium and condition ( also based on images provided), as well as the artist's current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
