Description

I believe it’s a vintage Japanese hand painted salad bowl. 8 1/2 “ across. I think it’s a gold Imari. Unsigned so not sure but definitely looks hand painted

What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a japanese Imari style bowl. Painted with underglaze cobalt blue and transfer printed and hand painted iron red, with stamped gold colour ornaments and additional gilding, production date would be Showa period, 20th century. There are chinese reproductions of Imari around, this might be one of those. Either way, the value would be the same.
