What does this mean?

Dear Susan,

My apologies for the late reaction.

You have a Chinese cloisonne ginger jar made for export in 1940 / 1950. I would say it is 1950 production but this style is made in a longer time period. These pots have the form of a ginger jar but were never filled with ginger; these were purely made for decorative purposes. Chinese art has is sought after in these days so I believe if your pot came to auction it should be fetching a price close to the estimate. Be aware that only when cloisonne is in great condition without any damage it can make the price in the estimation.
