This is a 9x12 authentic Persian rug purchased in the 1960s by a Persian rug dealer. The wealthy family (Balboe) who owned it were originally from Iran and the father was a Persian rug dealer in Iran before the family fled for their safety in the 1940s. The rug may be from the Hamadan providence. It was recently professionally cleaned by a company that rates rugs A though F, A being museum quality. They rated it a B, not museum quality but very valuable.
