It is a lovely necklace. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
From your description and the photos it appears to be a 8 or 14 kt gold necklace, made in the last halft of the 1900s. As for the stones it is very hard to tell if they are diamonds or if they are a zircon, a synthetic stone that is cut in the same way diamonds are cut and that have the same colour and look to it. This would need to be tested by a gemologist and not something that can be done by photo alone I am afraid. The estimate is based on the necklace being gold and the stones not being diamonds but eg zircons.

The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the necklace has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the necklace. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
