It was bought at the auction many years ago by my grandmother
Good morning, Susan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The auction market for cut glass is generally fairly soft at the moment. The follow recent auction sales have been used to research a fair market value of your set, which I will say seems to be a very nice example:
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, you have:
A Bohemian Glass Company Footed compote with seven fruit bowls
Czechoslovakia, mid 20th Century
Compote: 8 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches diameter; bowls each 2 inches high by 5 inches diameter
Provenance: acquired by grandmother at auction, thence by descent
$150-250 (fair market value for auction purposes; retail or asking prices may vary)
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
