What does this mean?

Dear Shirley,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.

The presented object appears to be a ceramic sculpture with measurements of 17 x 8 inches. The sculpture depicts a hand with separately worked phalanges. It is illegible signed with a felt tip pen and this piece was made in the last third of the 20th century. Sadly it is not possible to attribute this piece vie motif or style to a known artist.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 40 to 80 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
