Hand carved table & chairs from china(taiwan) brought to leedey in the 60s,by our pharmacist who died in1963.table is 100"l-50"w-32"t weighs approx.500# wood is probably mahogany.the carving is intricate with visible chisel marks.the 6 chairs are individually similar but unique in exact patterns.the table is glass topped,the chairs have gold silk cushions.the combination has never been used for anything other than decoration.when i bought it it had been in storage for years,the cushions still had shipping covers installed.

i purchased the items from an individual who was the son-in-law of the original owner who was the pharmacist ,pharmaceutic salesmen living in leedey ok.he sold enough to get credits which he used to purchase the table chairs and a china cabinet on one of his sales trips.his family name was Cobb.the man i bought it from was Burt Mc-kinney from leedey i do not know many people who have ever seen the items except in my home.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be what you suggested. A chinese southern elm wood dining room table and chairs, decorated with the dragons chasing pearl pattern and a ornately carved landscape scene on the table top, protected by glass. Such sets are very common and you can find them on a regular basis at auctions. The estimate is based on similar sets sold at auction. Prices in the trade are usually higher and can vary.
