A World War 2 era hand made grass style skirt made out of parachute silk. It is 37 inches long and 38 inches wide a the center of the skirt. The waist band is 3 inches wide and and 34 inches long. Aded the side straps makes the waist band 59 inches long.
The skirt was made by my father out of parachute silk in 1944 or 1945 while serving in the South Pacific with the United States army. It has never been exhibited but an assistant curator at the World War 2 Museum In New Orleans said they had never seen one before.
