Elaborately engraved, especially with columns on side and top with carved woman's head and face. Is carved and finely finished wood. Is key-wound up with glass encasing for brass-metal pendulum. The clock works. Is dark wood, maybe mahogany. Is 46" high, 18" width, 7" or 8" inset, approximately 30-35 lbs..
I do not know where it came from. May have been auction or antique store.
This is an antique, 19th century, Victorian era, turned wood, gingerbread style hanging wall pendulum clock with bas-relief classical face affixed to the top. A maker name is not known, though is possibly signed on the works, which can be seen by opening the backside. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
