What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

It is a beautiful set of 12 demitasse cups with Gorham silver sleeves and saucers and Lenox china cup inserts. Such vintage silvercup sleeves and china cups are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
It is a lovely set and unusual to see all 12 in good condition. The fact that the original box is still there despite its poor condition adds to the value. The design of the silversleeves is very classic and would still be fashionable today. However this type of antique is not used that often and would be more of a showpiece. It was made in the early 1900s.

I believe that this lovely set of 12 cups and saucers would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the 12 cups has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the 12 demitasse cups with Gorham silver sleeves and saucers and Lenox china cup inserts. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.

I don’t really have a sentimental attachment to the set. I would be interested in figuring out how to sell the set for the best price possible. Any advice is appreciated.

Your item will be presented for several auction houses, but they tend only to be interested in items worth more than $1000. If you are not contacted by any auctionhouse I would recommend eBay for these kinds of items because of the extended amount of buyers on the platform.
