What does this mean?

Hi Catherine,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I don't see a glass globe in any of these photos? A glass globe should sit on the metal sort-of melon-looking reservoir that sits on the wooden base. Do you have that?

Thanks to confirm, at your convenience,
Delia

The fat rounded piece that is green is either metal or Glass. It is the piece sitting on top of the wood.

I have two of these lamps

Maybe i'm not describing correctly. The handle on it is brass or metal as well as the sprout.

Are you still appraising it?

Hi Catherine,
The green vessel looks like metal (probably brass) with metal fittings, on a wooden base. There would have been a glass globe or shade (sometimes called a hurricane) that would have fit onto the top and would have enclosed a flame; now the lamp looks like it's been converted into electric and is now missing that glass shade.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A pair of Victorian brass oil lamps, now converted into electric
lacking glass hurricane or globe shades, a brass melon-form reservoir with nozzle and handle, on a later wooden base.
$100-150 for the pair*
