What does this mean?

Dear Paulette,

Indeed a Geisha figure from Japan. I see its printed and not woven and the fabric looks machine made. Its probably made after an example of a woodblock print made by an Japanese artist I feel. It has some similarity with that. I believe it is made around the date the relative of yours was in Japan; mid 20th century. LOvely decorative piece and typical Japanese subject.
