Eastlake dresser
20 July 2019
Description

This was my mother's for years. I'm positive she purchased it from an Antique store. There has been no restoration, original condition. There is one broken drop handle and one missing, Yikes! I checked on some sites and haven't found anything "similar" The particular backplate for the drop handle seems unique. I don't have the measurements but can get them. It's a tall dresser.

Provenance

I believe my mother bought it at an antique store, where I don't know.

Hello. Thanks for the info. One question I do have is: Do you know what the style/name of the drawer hardware? I would like to try to find replacements for the missing and broken ones. I haven't been able to find anything similar by google search/images. Any info would be appreciated.
Best, Julie

The hardware is aesthetic movement (that's the name of the general style, not a pattern name). You might check with a company that does period hardware reproductions - like Ball & Ball in Exton PA or Horton Brasses in Cromwell, CT, which specializes in Victorian hardware (the aesthetic movement overlapped at the end of the Victorian era). If neither has yours in stock, they can both replicate them.
