Delft pitcher & bowl
28 September 2020
Description

Delft Holland pitcher and bowl. 3 chips to the bowl along the outer rim, otherwise in great condition. Bowl 5 x11 Pitcher 8.25 x 6

Provenance

From the Atwood Estate sale in Flint Michigan. This was a historic sale with many family heirlooms dating back to 1800's. Edwin Atwood was part of a group of bakers in flint that were early investors into GM I believe. Edwin Atwood was mayor of flint in the 1920s (the only reason I have his name is because I bought an original edgar allen poe book copyright 1835 that he signed in the cover). I am aware of the many imitations of delft pottery but for the reasons I mentioned above of coming from a prestigious family with items dating back to the 1800s I am curious the age/value of these pieces. I will post other items I have from this sale eventually that I am having difficulty dating
