It looks like the top originally had something on it that left a mark but which is no longer there. Perhaps a mirror on a broad base? Do you ever remember something like that and if so, do you still have it?

I can see the two-drawer small piece but there is a shadow on top of THAT piece that looks to me to have once had something on top of IT...thoughts?
