Necklace is a composite necklace of beads from different historical eras ranging from c.2,000 BCE through to the mid 20th century CE. 1) Small Iron Age Glass Beads, late 1st millennium BCE, THAILAND 2) Two Greenish-Blue Glass Islamic Beads, 10th to 12th century CE, AFGHANISTAN 3) Eight Large Amber Beads c2,000 to 1,000 BCE, RUSSIA 4) Two large faceted Agate Beads 19th century, IRAN 5) Six decorative 18ct gold spacer beads, c 1955-1959, AFGHANISTAN Complete length = 40cm Certificate of Authenticity.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. Your description appears to be correct. Single beads of various specific eras can demand high prices, but a composite necklace does not necessarily add the values of the single beads. Currently prices for amber are exceptionally high, therefore the price of the necklace would mostly be determined by the size, colour and weight of the natural baltic amber (copal?) and the gold beads. The estimate is based on recent auction results for similars.

I am fully aware that a composite necklace does not and cannot effect the price of a single beads. As an expert I am sure you would know that such necklaces are done to keep beads - often very valuable beads - together.
