It is done on rice paper and it is exrtemely intricate in design. The threads are very thin and elegant. I was told by a Japanese appraiser in Dallas, TX in 1990 that they was done in the 1970's and once they were 20-30 years old , they would be worth approximately $2500 each. I have two that are very similar. He said they were the most intricate and finely done of any he had ever seen.

I inherited this item from a former friend who lived in Tokyo in 1970' while employed by Caltex Petroleum.
