Hi
I actually didn't notice it until you asked because it is on the foot and not the actual bottom of the piece. Looks like the initials J.P.
Thanks
Christina

Hi,
I listed this item on ebay and am getting trolled with messages saying this is not capodimonte but in fact old paris. I looked into it and it does seem this is old paris because there are other examples of similar pieces in the exact same colorway. I pay for this service for this exact reason because I do not have the knowledge of such antiques I sell. Selling online is my full time job and such mistakes could be costly to me and now I feel quite insecure about using this service. Please if you could verify this and tell me the appropriate market value as well as how to rectify this mistake. I have much more I need appraised to list, could I get a free apprasial at the very least. Thanks
Christina

What are the links you've seen this listed elsewhere as Old Paris? I was pretty sure I saw the impressed Capodimonte mark so perhaps a clearer photo of the impressed mark on the center of the bottom, not just the foot.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay
Apperently it is old paris by jacob petit. I feel like there's no room for doubt since there is a J.P. signature on the bottom which not all pieces have.

Hi Christina,
When you wrote earlier saying that this was Jacob Petit, I looked through all of my marks books and I've not been able to find any that have the initials in script - they are all in blocky fonts.
That said, I've looked up what a parcel gilt Old Paris porcelain vases by Jacob Petit are bringing at auction and they are ranging from $400-900.
