Antique Inlaid Standing Mirror
This mirror is stunning with inlaid ebony and other exotic woods, it has a triple beveled mirror, all bronze hardware with brass or bronze wheels, it measures 40"w x 72" t x 20"d, its in excellent condition no breaks or scratches but a few spots on the mirror from the silver fading and there's a hole in the center of top and bottom pinwheels I'm not sure what originaly when in them or if anything at all? I searched but couldn't find any markings but I haven't taken the back off, do you recommend me doing that? Feel free to lmk if you need anymore pics or info? Mahalo's
This piece came from the historic John Guild Inn now the Moana Vally Inn on Oahu. The Inn opened in 1919 and was originally furnished with fine Antiques, this mirror was one of the original pieces. I purchased this mirror and many more original Manoa Inn antiques on May 14th 2018 from the last owner of the Inn Theresa Wery, she sold the property 5 years prior and shipped off most of the contents to her current home in Kula, Maui. This is an antique early 19th century, Late Georgian to early Victorian era, full length cheval mirror on stand with wheels under the feet. The triple beveled mirror is framed in fret cut oak with parquetry, or inlaid wood, circular and eye-form pinwheels in ebony and a lighter wood. The inner frame of the mirror is gold leafed or gilded. The provenance, or history of past ownership, is that this was an antique acquired for the decor of the John Guild Inn on Oahu when it was opened in 1919. There are some pinwheels with an 'empty' hole in the center which was likely inlaid with a piece of ivory which has since fallen out. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
The mirror does tilt, the only visible hardware is the flat head screws on the back, i'l send better pics later today. Mahalo's

No, do not remove the backing. Does the mirror tilt? Also please add clear in-focus close up images of any nail heads, screws hardware that you can see.
