Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

It is a beautiful antique doll. Such antique porcelain dolls are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
From the look of your doll it looks to be made in Germany by one of the many German doll factories, possibly Armand Marseille. The expression of the dolls head is what you characterise as a womans doll instead of a babydoll or character doll. It probably has a jointed body made of papermache and wood which is common on this type of doll. It was made around 1890-1910.
When selling dolls like this the condition is very important especially the head has to be in mint condition meaning that there must be no cracks, hairlines, chips or repairs to the porcelain. The body too has to be in good condition but the head is the most important piece of the doll. When a doll is wearing original clothes and has a natural hair wig like yours it is usually good for the price.

The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the doll has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to your grandmothers doll. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you

I want to know how much you would ask for her. Does this company sale dolls? Not original clothes and no apparent cracks.

Your item will be presented for several auction houses, but they tend only to be interested in items worth more than $1000. I would recommend eBay for these kinds of items because of the extended amount of buyers on the platform.

Kind regards

Are you saying doll is worth less than $1000

Sabrina vinther Oct 02, 10:05 UTC

Yes the value of the doll is somewhere between 250-350 US$
Kind regards
