Antique 23inches 1930s bear
This teddy bear belonged to my husband’s grandmother who brought it to America in the 1930s Supposedly from Germany. it is 27.5 inches tall, has glass amber eyes, Stitched nose and has wood shavings as filling. Elbows are bent at 90 degrees. Bear is not jointed and has no pads. Hair has fallen down however has a few patches of short blonde hair
It was my husband’s gandmothers teddy bear. It has been in the family since the 30, it was brought by boat from Germany. It was bought by their parents because my housbands grandma was about ro be born, she was born on the way back to America in the boat.

The teddy bear has had a lovely life with many cuddles and probably been told many secrets. The condition of the teddy is what you would call much loved - or put in another way it is very used. The fur is missing and on the snout there are a few holes. However the teddybear is still a nice piece of vintage toy. It is hard to tell who the manufacturer was without any labels, tags or other marks, but Germany has a long history of producing soft toys and in the 1930s Germany exported toys worldwide. So your family story is probably true.
The teddy was made in the first half of the 1900s.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the teddybear has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the family teddybear. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
