Accent table with 3 drawers. The bottom of one drawer has 9 4 13 engraved in the edge. The table looks to be hand-made. There are no nails or screws in it. The edges have been glued together with some fabric placed over the glue to help strengthen and hold the pieces together. The table is 34.5 inches high. 63 inches long and 22.5 inches deep.
Bought it from a business that was closing.
This is an antique to vintage, early 20th century, sideboard type table that is done in a black lacquered style surface paint and constructed with mortise and tenon and finger joinery. Based on the form, color, joinery, light weight of the wood and overall aesthetic, this is likely an Asian, possibly Chinese, altar table. The only elements that do not 'jive', so to speak, are the drawer handle pulls, which may have been replaced at some time (check the inside of the drawer for evidence of the handles possibly having been changed. This is a clean, simple form which is desirable for decor in modern homes of today. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
