What does this mean?

Good morning, Nicholas,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a very nice set of soup plates; that mark was used between 1891-1902, so it helps to date the group. I can't make out the impressed mark. The funny 'T" below 5185 might be the cyper mark for the year 1900. I can't tell if these read MINTONE or MINTONS - late in the 19th century the company dropped the 'E' and added 'S' - there is no difference in value among them.

I can't find the name of the pattern but it has a distinctly Chinoiserie or Japonsime aesthetic that was very popular around 1890-1900.

It is unusual for small groups of porcelain to be offered at auction, largely because they do not bring very much and it makes more sense for the auction house to assemble larger groups of porcelains and china. A few reasonably comparable results are here:

Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, you have:

A set of 8 antique Minton porcelain soup plates
English, marked, 1891-1902
9 inches diameter
CONDITION: client represents condition to be excellent
PROVENANCE: descended in the family, through uncles
$100-150 (represents a fair market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary).
