This is a set of 4 pen and ink drawings that I found at a thrift store. They are nicely framed so I did not want to take them out of their frames if at all possible. They may be drawn on parchment or hand-made paper; the paper they are drawn on appears to have some texture. I really was afraid to take the drawings out of the frames because they do appear to be fragile. Each of the 4 drawings measures approximately 8.5" X 6". (They are in matching frames...the frames measure approximately 11.25" X 8.5".)
I do not know anything about the previous ownership of these drawings or where they came from. They are nicely framed... I found them at a thrift store in Memphis, TN.
You have a Japanese Woodblock print made in the 19th century. It say's: An illustration from Ehon authored by Tamenaga Shunsui and illustration by Utagawa Kunisada.
Utagawa Kunisada is a famous name but this is not his work but just a copy. Its very decorative but has for a collector little value.
